Regular backup is a copy of your data that lets you restore a lost file or database. DRaaS (Disaster Recovery as a Service) extends that — a complete system that keeps a live Replica of your servers at a secondary site, allowing the entire environment to be brought up within minutes to hours in the event of a real disaster (hardware failure, ransomware, loss of the primary site). Backup saves you from deletion. DRaaS saves you from downtime.
Yes. We keep versions (versioning) of the backups, and a single file can be restored from a specific point in time — without touching the rest of the server. This is the most common scenario in practice: an employee deleted a file or ran a faulty update, and you want to roll the version back.
Yes. Any server backed up with us can be fully restored — operating system, applications, data and settings — either to the same infrastructure or to new infrastructure (bare-metal recovery). The recovery process is managed and accompanied by our team, according to DR scenarios agreed in advance.
Absolutely. You don't need to migrate your servers to us to get the managed backup service. You can run a backup agent on a server sitting in your office, on AWS, on Azure or with another provider — and back up to our backup infrastructure in Israel.
It depends on the package and the business's requirements (RPO — Recovery Point Objective). With Basic Backup, a daily backup is the standard. With Advanced Backup you can reach 4 backups a day. With full DRaaS, the Replica updates continuously or every few minutes — so in the event of a disaster, data loss is reduced to just a few minutes instead of hours.
Yes, and it's a best practice. We follow the classic 3-2-1 rule: three copies of the data, on two media types, one of them at an external site. With managed backup at our facility, the data is kept in a primary data center in Israel, with a replica copy to a secondary data center — so a physical disaster at one site doesn't take you all down.
